Special Projects Accountant

job summary:
The Special Projects Accountant works with leaders of the accounting and

finance department to provide accounting, internal audit, and special project expertise;

financial analysis and review; various reports required by corporate obligations;

operational benchmark/KPI analysis; and other activities in which attention to detail,

strong technical skills, an ability to work in a team, and skillful interpersonal interactions

are necessities.

? Budget preparation support

? Financial reporting and analysis

? Perform ad-hoc accounting research

? Update accounting policies and/or memos, as required, to document treatment of new or

unique transactions.

? Execute special projects within the Accounting function, with a focus on automating current

business processes and information flows

? Identify and develop process improvements and reporting efficiencies to enhance effectiveness

and efficiency of various processes

? Assist with internal audit functions to complete process documentation updates and testing of

select key controls

? Review/abstract contracts, leases, PSA's, LOI's, Debt, and Operating instruments

? Research technical accounting matters

? Work with other departments, as directed, to serve as accountant for acquisition and divestiture

("A&D") activities, including:

? Pre-close due diligence, which includes assisting with the coordination and communication

across all departments

? Review settlement statements pre-close and post-close for accuracy

? Assist in the transition of acquired/divested assets into all impacted systems

? Assist the Business Development, Legal and Accounting teams to review components of

Purchase & Sale Agreements ("PSA"), as well as communicating details of executed

transactions to the Accounting Executives

? Coordinating with personnel from Field and Accounting to ensure A&D transactions are

appropriately accounted for

? Prepare various A&D journal entries, account reconciliations, and management reports

? Perform other duties as assigned.

? Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field

? 3 years of relevant accounting experience

? Strong MS Excel experience

? Experience working in real estate applications is a strong plus

? Experience with internal controls/process and internal audit a plus

? Familiar with internal control framework
