Loan Documentation Specialist

Job Description:

  • Coordinates the preparation of loan documentation packages in compliance with bank policy and procedures, regulatory guidelines, and business line standards by gathering and reviewing necessary documents and information.
  • Effectively communicates with staff, banking relationship managers and other internal departments to promptly and accurately respond to inquiries, resolve problems and obtain additional information required to complete the file in a timely manner.
  • Reviews credit approval documents and compares against loan documentation requests from banking teams. Resolves discrepancies and collects appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Accurate data entry into ordering system; effective collaboration with documentation preparation partners. Reviews draft loan documents for accuracy and compliance to credit approval document.
  • Designates release of loan documents to banking partners for client signing. Accurate data entry of covenants and reporting requirements into tickler system.
  • Over three years of experience with commercial loan documentation, policies and procedures.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Data entry and validation into / with a variety of bank systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data
  • Understands loan / funding terminology and various documentation formats
  • Ideal candidates will have prior experience with Client systems, exceptional data integrity and customer service. The ability to be flexible with tasks and present a positive attitude are key attributes that we seek
  • Coordinates the preparation of loan/lease packages in compliance with policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines and investor standards by gathering and reviewing necessary documents and information within designated time frames.
  • Communicates with staff, customers/clients, realtors, brokers, counsel, title companies, etc. to respond to inquiries, resolve problems and obtain additional documents needed to complete the file.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory and investor requirements and customer service standards.
  • May coordinate the closing and funding of assigned loan packages; calculating final closing costs and disbursing funds.
Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Basic knowledge of legal documents used to support applicable loan/lease processing
  • Ability to work with legal to solve complex documentation needs
  • Ability to apply critical thinking for all elements of loan documentation construction
  • Ability to master the bank's documentation software
  • Some knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology and automated processing systems
  • Some knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s)
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast paced, high production, professional environment
  • Strong organization skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
