Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Talent & Culture, the Manager, Talent & Culture leads the human resources function for the Talent department., including performance management, company OKR coordination, benefits education and strategy, career mapping, and compensation. This position is responsible for ensuring talent-related policies are consistently administered in compliance with government regulations, and also implementing programs that will promote a positive and inclusive employee experience.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Own quarterly company OKR and performance management process
  • Serve as a business partner to all departments, including

    • Advise departments on compensation structure, competencies, career mapping, and learning & development, ensuring internal equity across the company
    • Manage FMLA, short term disability, salary continuation, and personal leave programs in compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies
    • Serve as a main point of contact for staff for talent related items, such as policies, employee relations, performance management, and benefits
  • Plan and execute annual open enrollment, as well as ongoing benefits education, through collaboration with external brokers
  • Analyze trends in the workforce, through a bi-annual employee survey and internal employee taskforce, and make recommendations for improvement to the Director, Talent & Culture
  • Assist with other Talent-related projects as directed or requested

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources, with start-up experience preferred
  • Experience in the design, funding, compliance, administration, and communication of employee benefits (health and welfare, 401(k), etc.)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative developments related to human resources
  • Experience owning and managing vendor/broker relationships
  • Experience working closely with HRIS/payroll and legal departments
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable liaising with and building relationships with various stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
  • Bias for action and proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Warmth, humble mentality, resourcefulness, impeccable judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
