Staff Accountant

job summary:
Responsibilities:

  • Process and transmit monthly payroll
  • Various Payroll Reports
  • Daily Cash report
  • Monthly Hours report
  • Monthly Origination report
  • General Ledger account analysis and journal entries
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly B Fund reconciliations
  • Monthly Of Counsel payments
  • Responsible for Partner return capitals
  • New Employee preparation
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Amortization and interest schedule and calculations
  • Cash need analysis
  • Delinquent time report
  • Special projects (i.e., B Fund calculations, Professional review committee projects)
  • Help out in other areas of the department as needed
  • Implementing improvements to processes and procedures
  • Other Accounting reports as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting strongly preferred.
  • Five plus years of accounting experience required.
  • Professional services experience a plus.
  • The candidate must be familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, must be computer savvy
  • Key attributes include strong initiative, flexibility, ability to successfully juggle several projects at one time and ability to successfully meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills to problem solve and assist with the implementation of solutions along with strong attention to detail.
