job summary:
TITLE: Sr. Human Resources Generalist

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

Reports to: Director, HR

FLSA Status: Exempt

Primary responsibilities include employee relations, compensation administration, employee discipline, benefits administration and most other standard human resources activities (ex. recruiting and employment related activity/reporting).

responsibilities:
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES : Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Actively partner with department leaders to establish, implement and monitor short term and long term strategies for driving business results.
  • Assist in any performance management facility initiative(s) (performance appraisals, succession planning, talent review etc.).
  • Communicate, implement, and interpret HR policies and practices to ensure fair and consistent administration.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations' issues.
  • Ensure compliance on documents and best practices for employee relations issues.
  • Handle employee relations issues. This includes conflict resolution, initial performance concerns, behavior complaints, and others.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to associates.
  • Train managers to document and provide performance feedback.
  • Meet with line managers to discuss associate performance and provide coaching where needed.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external business partners to ensure administration is completed in a timely basis.
  • Assist with crafting announcements for new hires, promotions, and other changes within the business.
  • Compensation reviews, discuss promotions, determine appropriate "next steps" for associates.
  • Partner with all recruiting and onboarding activity for the location.
  • Serve as first level of elevation for associate questions and concerns regarding benefits.

General Education and/or Education + Experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (B. S or B.A.) from four-year College or university; and 5 - 7 years of experience in HR for a manufacturing company.

  • Prior experience in HR in a manufacturing environment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS Solid verbal and written communications skills required. Strong interpersonal skills enabling involvement in a cross-functional, quality driven team environment. A positive "can do" attitude fueled with initiative, dedication, neatness, sense of urgency and concern for the satisfaction of customers, both internal and external.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. When in the manufacturing area employees are required to wear steel toe safety shoes and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields at all times. Gloves are required when handling all products.
