job summary:
Full-time TEMP position with a financial services firm in White Marsh, MD for a PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER. Approx start date mid February through mid summer 2019.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Actively manage designated products throughout the products' lifecycle to support the Association's objectives and strategies. Develop, modify, and evolve products to maximize customer demand; profitability; and market share. Serve as lead on cross-functional teams to achieve targeted outcomes. Drive customer lifecycle management.

responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Research and Analysis

    • Conduct on-going research and analysis regarding current and future market condition. Identify and track key competitors by product as well as consumer trends. Analyze and interpret research regarding product development. Analyze customer data and report on key metrics. Synthesize this information to identify opportunities for product innovation, enhancements, and differentiation.
  • Product Planning and Management:

    • Based on research, define the long-term strategy for products and create product roadmap. Determine necessary product specifications. Develop comprehensive product documents that include but are not limited to market requirements, customer target, pricing strategy, compliance considerations, and product policies. Develop product project plans and perform as project manager overseeing the product development process by driving cross-functional teams. Understand and engage in all product touch-points including sales, operational protocols and systems requirements. Responsible for development and ongoing management of both written and functional compliance of all product forms, marketing material, processes and product disclosures. Assume proactive role in developing and communicating new or revised compliance information both internally as well as externally. Generate ongoing reports to reflect current product performance, status, and trends as well as customer acquisition results, retention trends, and impact on deepening customer relationships.
  • Product Marketing:

    • Drive ongoing improvement in sales and profitability. Develop marketing plans that outline objectives, strategies and tactics to achieve Association targeted outcomes. Plan, implement and track product launches. Initiate creative work plans to provide strategic direction for developing support materials; ensure that concepts align with strategy and meet compliance hurdles; obtain required approvals; and oversee development through production and distribution. Support front line with product knowledge and technical expertise. Develop tools for front line including but not limited to sales aids; research; sales results and tracking; and collateral. Conduct product presentations as needed.
  • Customer/End User Support:

    • Respond to product related inquiries and feedback. Coordinate ongoing research to track customer feedback; analyze results; and generate summary reporting. Generate product and customer recommendations based on findings.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years prior product management and/or related experience required. Experience with marketing, business and management principles and practices. Banking experience preferred.
