Human Resource Generalist

job summary:
SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED

  • HRBP to support the Client's Engine team and be a part of the Client HR team.
  • This role requires an understanding of HR fundamentals and experience implementing, executing and delivering appropriate HR solutions.
  • You'll partner with people managers on Client's people programs, processes and policies.
  • As the internal advisory unit for people managers you will serve as their main resource for people-related issues.
  • Examples may include support in managing employee engagement, performance issues, people manager training, foundational talent management programs, assisting with org changes, manager coaching on employee matters, etc.
  • To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into high impact work.
  • You'll help people managers look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention and the employee experience.
  • In addition, you'll participate in Client-wide talent projects and initiatives in areas such as such as employee relations, culture, and management capability / leadership development, as well as facilitating quarterly talent management processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS

4+ years of experience in a HR generalist leadership role, preferably in a high tech environment

Knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment

Able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate

Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience working with fast growing, large, global teams

Global HR experience

Change management experience

Project management experience

Proven ability to diagnose issues and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative

Business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies

Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills

Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization

Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams

Resilient and able to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high level of energy and sense of humor

MANAGER INTAKE NOTES

o With the holiday, the goal will be to shortlist by Thursday of next week

o Interviews will be Phone screens first, then top finalists come on-site

ROLE SPECIFICS

o Anticipated start date 1/21/19

o Primarily 8-5, with flexibility for potential early calls with the East Coast

o Small HR team supporting specific client group, daily interaction with HM in Seattle - Opportunity to work with virtual teammates in other sites (Boston, Seattle, etc)

o Role is for coverage of LOA

o Flexible schedule on case by case basis, Work from home is an option but not every day

CANDIDATE SPECIFICS

o Bachelors degree and 4 + years of experience in field

o HR degree and less experience is okay too

o With the passion to learn and work for it

Ideal Candidate:

o Has HRBP or Generalist experience

o Tech background is preferred

o Partnering with leaders

o Working on HR initiatives

o Maybe someone who has worked in a talent management group

o Proven experience in HRBP roles

o Working with leaders

Negative would be:

o People who have been in more distant HR roles without interaction with managers and HR teams

o Proven experience in having sound judgement

o Review a situation and make a recommendation

o Ability to dive deep with analysis and trends

o Consult with leaders, be resilient, able to provide coaching to leaders
