Business Development Manager - Top 10 Contract Logistics Provider

job summary:
Our client, a leading international forwarder ( $25+ Billion in sales annually) has a Business Development Manager for an aggressive self-starter who is a strong relationship builder and who understands the value of building long-lasting business relationships. The territory will be Ohio and Western Pennsylvania The Business Development Manager will be focused on selling a full solution including international air, ocean, and customs brokerage.

Highlights:

Ideal candidates will have a solid 7 + years of proven sales experience, preferably selling value added B2B solutions and will have transportation and logistics sales experience. Candidate will also have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to deliver a compelling value proposition to prospects; most important, will be the ability sell to the "C" level. BA or BS degree is preferred, but not required, problem solving and analytical skills related to logistics and customer service, and, a minimum of 5 years in progressive sales in the transportation industry is preferred.

Attractive compensation plan including base, uncapped bonus potential, medical/dental/life, company-contributed 401K, vehicle, and expense allowances, etc.

responsibilities:
  • This position sells using in depth technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying services to their needs resulting in revenue and profit
  • Performs the functions of key client development.
  • Properly qualifying business opportunities with Regional companies or the like; presenting to mid level supply chain decision makers of organization and preparing formal proposals; and leading negotiations, coordinating complex decision-making process, and overcoming objections to closure.
  • Strategizing with current and prospective regional customers to diversify our active products and define advantages
  • Prepares and presents proposals, quotes, negotiates, and recommends services based on customers needs and sales of appropriate services.
