POSITION: Global Business Development Manager - FreightForwarding

The key responsibility of the Global Business Development Manager is to develop new business with existing and new clients and act as the primary liaison between the customer and company.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience, will have a minimum of ten years of business related experience in the international forwarding industry. A strong background in the international transportation and logistics industry, superior communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates who excel at driving business, who have strong tactical and analytical awareness, who are quality driven, and who have a profound understanding of client relationships and company objectives will be considered for this opportunity.

responsibilities:
  • Serve as direct contact between client and internal operations
  • Interface directly with prospects on a regular basis
  • Clarify customer expectations and requirements and report all details to team on a regular and consistent basis
  • Collaborate with team in managing various client projects from concept to execution
  • Design Service Agreements and annual proposals in collaboration with the Contract team
  • Recommend program enhancements and variations
  • Participate in problem solving process and solutions development
  • Identifying and properly qualifying business opportunities; presenting to executive levels of organization and preparing formal proposals; and leading negotiations, coordinating complex decision-making process, and overcoming objections to closure.
  • Contacts current and prospective customers to sell and explain company services available and advantages of dealing with the company.
  • Prepares and presents proposals, quotes and recommends services based on customer's needs and sales of appropriate services.
