Large Chemical manufacturer is looking for a Sr. Electrical Reliability Engineer for their South Louisiana location. This is a direct hire opportunity. Candidates must have strong background with project management with high voltage circuits, motor control, switchgear installation, and codes.

Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Develops basic and detailed design of new projects as well as modifications to existing facilities while working with voltages and equipment from 110V up to and including 69KV
  • Develops Specifications and Designs for new Electrical Power Systems
  • Investigate electrical failures as necessary to determine root cause and recommend appropriate solutions to reduce or eliminate re-occurrence of failure
  • Provide electrical system maintenance work scopes to the maintenance group for major unit shutdowns and provide technical assistance in Electrical Safety issues
  • Initiate electrical system reliability projects to improve system reliabilityand submit major capital reliability projects for budget with proper justification

Requirements for the Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Must have B.S. or higher in Electrical engineering
  • At least eight years required in electrical systems design and maintenance
  • Must have working knowledge of SKM powertools computer program to be able to run load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies
  • Capable of working with a team of other discipline engineers that support chemical manufacturing operations
  • Must be able to read elementary diagrams, one line, and three line drawings
