A dynamic & stable industrial equipment manufacturing client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for 2 Product Support Engineers/Technical Support Specialists to join their product support team in Northern Indiana. You need to have a high mechanical aptitude with machines and industrial equipment. Your main responsibility will be to provide technical support over the phone to customers who are having problems installing, operating or maintaining large, heavy industrial equipment products. Responsibilities for the Technical Support

  • Be part of a team that provides in-depth product technical support to customers on industrial equipment relating to product performance, troubleshooting guidance and equipment repair advice via telephone (90% of the time) or in person (10% of the time)
  • Document all aspects of the support call into the MRP systems to ensure complete documentation of product performance is captured
  • Help develop and provide technical product training on the proper troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation, repair and maintenance of these products via phone, WebEx, or in person to customers
  • Provide detailed and comprehensive reports on product and field concerns and dealer interaction
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge to respond to dealer requests
  • Actively participate in effrots to improve processes and provide value to customers
  • Travel 10-15% of the time for active construction support, product startups, product evaluation, troubleshooting and repairs

Requirements for the Technical Support

  • The ideal candidate has experience as a Product Support Specialist or Product Support Engineer with experience providing support to customers over the phone related to the operations, maintenance, installation or repair of industrial or heavy industrial mechanical equipment & systems
  • The ideal candidate has 3+ years of 'hands on' experience in providing technical support via telephone or in person on agricultural equipment or other similar fields. Will consider strong mechanical background in power transmission mechanics, manufacturing, building/construction, etc.
  • You need a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues (gear boxes, electric motors, basic schematics)
  • Ability to review product manuals and troubleshoot various mechanical equipment & systems
  • You need the ability to discuss & resolve problems with customers over the phone and in the field if the problem can no be solved over the phone
  • An BSME or BSMET degree is preferred, but any technical degree will do
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Any experience related to agricultural & farm related grain systems and equipment is considered a PLUS
