The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close and the SEC reporting process within the accounting department. The candidate will join a highly visible team and have regular interactions with other team members, vendors worldwide, auditors and regulators and external administrators. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviewing AP invoices for proper coding to ensure accuracy of GL entries during AP close. Coordinating approvals of invoices by respective departments, coordinating the Controller's review of the AP schedule, and scheduling AP payments.Setting up new vendors using vendor forms and issuing purchase orders (after review), as applicable.Maintaining the general ledger of the company.Preparing journal entries and reconciliations for investments, fixed assets, prepaids, payroll, and various accruals.Assisting with clinical accruals during the monthly close process.Completing balance sheet reconciliations to close the books in a timely manner.Ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing in accordance with US GAAP.Ensuring accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring processes align with company accounting policies and procedures.Assisting with SOX 404(a) testing of controls related to assigned areas and SEC reporting, as needed.Assisting with Quarterly and Annual external audits by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing information to the auditors.Directing the preparation of schedules for the external audit related to their areas of responsibility.Organizing the preparation of the annual 1099 forms for the vendors as well as other areas of tax compliance.Supporting the Controller with SEC reporting including preparation of support schedules and updating Wdesk SEC filing platform.Compiling detailed expense and cash flow forecasts for the consolidated budget on a quarterly basis.Assisting with Transfer Agent system and maintaining common stock outstanding shares and tie out to filings.
