Objective: Promote Chemical Safety in the Workplace

Companies have a little over a year to familiarize themselves with GHS — the new universal system for classifying, labeling and documenting harmful chemicals in the workplace.

GHS, or the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, was established to promote chemical safety, and is especially important for a temporary workforce that may be less familiar with protocols. Previously, there was no standardization in this safety-critical classification, in labels or the documentation of harmful chemicals.
