About the Role: We are searching for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, research, and improvement of mechanical automation, equipment, and production lines. You will also serve as a technical expert, providing guidance and support to our newer mechanical designers. Responsibilities: Design automation solutions following company procedures, standards, and client specifications. Develop initial sketches, models, and engineering calculations for new equipment. Create detailed part and assembly drawings. Conduct research to gather information for design improvements. Perform calculations for proposed machine parts and assemblies (tolerances, dimensions, etc.). Support the building and installation processes to ensure adherence to design specifications. Assist in interviewing and onboarding new mechanical designers. Update mechanical design team processes and procedures. Utilize existing parts to assemble products and develop new designs. Generate print packages for the purchasing department. Maintain and revise existing models and drawings. Communicate effectively to ensure successful designs for current and future projects. Research and gather information to support design development and improvement. Assist operations with various production tasks (as needed). Reverse engineer parts and assemblies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience (5+ years) designing industry-specific products, preferably conveyors. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, weldments, and electrical/pneumatic controls. A plus: Robotics experience. Additional Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Clear understanding and ability to follow instructions in English. Availability to answer questions from service techs and customers during evenings and weekends (as needed).
