Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of accounting.
- Manage the month end close process.
- Manage the audit related functions of the system.
- Prepare all financial reports for the system.
- Remain current on all healthcare regulations and standards as it relates to financial accounting.
- Remain current on all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Assist System Corporate Controller with taxation
- Develop, recruit, and maintain an effective staff for the Accounting Department.
- Provide effective guidance and counseling in assisting staff to solve work-related concerns and evaluate staff performance fairly and on a timely basis.
- Complete performance appraisals on staff, providing effective guidance and counseling.
- Supervise accounting functions
- Assist System Corporate Controller with treasury management to include, but not limited to, cash management, investment monitoring, and debt covenant assessment.
- Analyze and recommend new or modified accounting processes that will support department stewardship goals.
