Operate and maintain machines including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together. Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects. Perform quality checks on completed tools and dies to ensure they are function-ready. Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications. Modify and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges as required. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. Qualifications Technical degree or certification in engineering, manufacturing technology, or relevant field. Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker. Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and design models. Proficiency with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software. Knowledge of metal properties and other material. Experience with precision measurement tools. Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools.
