A Research Microbiologist is needed for a company that manufactures, sells, and markets non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups in the Atlanta, GA area. This junior microbiologist role involves supporting the Corporate QSE team by conducting microbiology testing, research, and lab operations in collaboration with senior food microbiologists, with a focus on routine sample clearance, experimental design, and coordination of laboratory activities.

responsibilities:
- Part of the Corporate QSE team, supporting E2E Microbiology.
- Conducts routine microbiology clearance of ingredients, laboratory, and pilot plant samples from the Global R&D team based in Atlanta.
- Designs and executes microbiology research experiments using traditional and molecular microbiology techniques.
- Clears ingredients and prototypes from the laboratory and pilot plant.
- Supports laboratory activities like media preparation and waste disposal.
- Keeps laboratory SOPs up to date.
- Experience in microbiology testing and coordination of laboratory activities.
- strong scientific knowledge in microbiology and experimental design.
- Proven experience in setting robust experiments, microbial challenge testing, validation of alternative methods, and development of methods.
- Key skills include being a team player, collaborative, and having an entrepreneurial mindset.
