- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within an oncology clinical research setting. Familiarity with clinical trial guidelines and processes is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EPIC or similar healthcare financial management systems is required. strong skills in Excel and financial modeling are necessary.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of oncology, medical terminology, clinical trial guidelines, and Medicare coverage analysis. Experience with post-award grant management, especially related to federal and nonprofit grants.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with PIs, clinical research teams, and external funding agencies.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage large volumes of financial data (e.g., 10,000 charges per month) accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Handle day-to-day management of invoicing accounts and ensure accurate account reconciliation for clinical trials.
- Grant Management: Assist in preparing and managing the financial sections of grant submissions, particularly focusing on federal and nonprofit grants, including those involving the NIH. Oversee post-award grant management activities to ensure compliance and proper allocation of funds.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets for clinical trials, including forecasting expenses and monitoring financial performance against budgets.
- Contract Review: Analyze and review contracts related to clinical trials to ensure financial terms are favorable and in compliance with institutional policies.
- Medicare Coverage Analysis: Conduct Medicare coverage analysis for clinical trials to ensure compliance with Medicare rules and regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and the clinical research team to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
