Responsibilities
Resposibilities:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and welding process required. Selecting appropriate welding equipment and tools for the job. Cleaning, preparing, and setting up welding surfaces, equipment, and materials. Welding metal components using various processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). Monitoring and maintaining welding equipment to ensure functionality and safety. Inspecting welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications. Troubleshooting and repairing welding equipment and components as needed. Adhering to safety standards and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred. Proven experience as a welder in a similar role, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings. Proficiency in various welding techniques, processes, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. strong attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship. Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments. Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to welding operations. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
