About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Controls Designer to join our growing team in Burnsville, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, programming, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems for our current equipment line and future innovations, including robotics. You'll work closely with our design team, shop floor, and field technicians to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our machines.
What You'll Do:
- Design, revise, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and pneumatic panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Program and configure Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
- Create and manage electrical bills of materials.
- Provide guidance and support to field technicians during installation and service calls.
- Troubleshoot customer issues via phone.
- Assist in gathering information to contribute to new machine designs.
- Technical degree or equivalent work experience in electrical controls design.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical design software like AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley products and programming software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, etc.).
- strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
- Working knowledge of NFPA 79 and OSHA electrical safety guidelines.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time for installations and service calls.
- Availability to answer questions from service techs and customers during evenings and weekends, as needed.
salary: $72,800 - $93,600 per year

Responsibilities
- Design, revise, and troubleshoot electric schematics and pneumatic panel layouts using AutoCAD electrical, including machine control circuits, power distribution, safety, servo, and pneumatics.
- Apply knowledge of Allen-Bradley machine products, including PLCs, HMIs, safety relays and contactors, connectivity products, drives, and power distribution.
- Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and other AB products using Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, Control Component Workbench (CCW), and other manufacturer’s software as required.
- Create electrical bills of materials using Excel or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Provide directions to assemble electric and pneumatic panels, wiring machines, and pneumatic plumbing.
- Create labeling media using peripheral software and hardware.
- Assist in gathering the necessary information to contribute to machine designs.
- All other related duties as assigned.
