job summary: A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Washington, IL (outside of Peoria). This hands-on quality engineering role focuses on testing, analyzing, and improving machine systems through close collaboration with design and validation teams, requiring strong mechanical insight and teamwork.   location: Washington, Illinois job type: Contract salary: $31.36 - 38.57 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors   responsibilities: Research and test design, function, and maintenance of products, equipment, and systems.Develop and implement quality standards and sampling procedures.Create forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.Interpret blueprints and evaluate product integrity against standards.Plan, set up, and execute tests on machine systems.Analyze test data and compile reports with improvement recommendations.Support experienced engineers by overseeing test setups and executions.Attend teleconferences with design teams for planning and documentation.Perform post-test analysis and report findings.Collaborate with Product Validation and Design Engineers.Communicate test results and feedback to Product Design teams. Skills: strong understanding of mechanical systems and dynamics.Experience with instrumentation (microphones, transducers, accelerometers).Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.Use of hand tools for assembly/disassembly.High initiative and strong communication.Team-oriented and capable of performing physical tasks (e.g., climbing machinery, wrenching).
