job summary: Seeking a Cabling Technician experienced in the installation and service of surveillance and card access equipment. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience in cabling, security systems, pulling and routing wires, and low-voltage installation. Hourly rate of $30-$36.50/hour, overtime available for candidates!Candidates must be proficient in installing hardware and devices such as WAPs, card readers, door strikes, mag locks, cameras, basic rack installation, advanced and complex wiring diagrams, and racking/stacking. location: Omaha, Nebraska job type: Permanent salary: $63,000 - 77,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: High School responsibilities: Implementation of wiring solutions, covering various cable types such as composite card access cable, copper network cable, and pre-terminated fiber optic cables, including long-run cables and connections to field components.Installation of security head-end components such as security cabinets and power supplies.Deploy cable support devices and short conduit runs to facilitate installation in non-standard locations like rooftops and building corners.Installation of field devices including cameras, card readers, REXs (Request to Exit sensors), door contacts, and electronic locking hardware.Mounting and weatherproofing of camera installations and other auxiliary devices.Integration of auxiliary equipment with card access or camera systems, including ADA operators, dry contact alarm systems, push-to-exit buttons, and fire alarm interfacing.Testing and commissioning of field devices, encompassing functional tests and, camera aim/focus adjustments, and or network bandwidth testing.Proficiency in operating various tools necessary for installation tasks, such as power tools, man lifts, ladders, and rooftop work. Education/Experience/Requirements: High school education or equivalent required. Special training or schooling in CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems preferred but not required.Minimum four years experience required in the security and surveillance installation field.Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, dark, dimly lit or brightly illuminated.Work may be performed in small areas, such as crawl spaces, attics, and high areas such as catwalks, working at a level of 4 feet or more above floor level. Frequent contact with customers and other contractors.
