Responsibilities
Working alongside the Sr. Accounting Manager, the Project Accountant is responsible for monitoring and analyzing all areas of land development accounting including monthly financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, job costing, project budgeting, project basis and cost of sales reconciliations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Review and approve AP vouchers and contract orders
- Perform monthly and quarterly close along side with the Sr and Accounting Manager for multiple projects
- Reconcile GL, balance sheet, and income statement
- Oversee Cash Management
- Review and analyze various documents including management agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, and various other documents
- Compare monthly Balance sheet analysis and quarterly variance analysis compare actual results compared to previous month calculations.
- Work with other departments of the project team to ensure consistency and compliance, and assist with establishment and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Software system conversion from JD Edwards to LandDev a plus
- Indviduals from within the AEC industry are usually successful at this role
