    job summary: A Weld Manufacturing Quality Engineer is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Thibodaux, LA area. This job fully integrates an individual into the engineering culture by performing specific quality engineering assignments that are limited in scope, depth and degree of skill required. Work plans and decisions are usually reviewed by others.   location: Thibodaux, Louisiana job type: Contract salary: $23.06 - 35.52 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors   responsibilities: Learns and uses quality planning tools and analysis to formulate/facilitate quality plans for new products within the product delivery, order fulfillment or customer support processes.Learns and uses quality tools consistent with quality processes to enable the focus on prevention by identifying and performing activities to minimize risk.Investigates product and process quality related issues and recommends changes to control plans and/or prints.Gathers and analyzes data pertinent to quality tools in the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP), Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and/or Customer Support Process (CSP).Performs quality audits, including supporting International Standards Organization (ISO) audits, and maintains quality manual.Inputs and maintains information in factory databases and systems.Monitors quality plan tracking system.Assists in reviews and investigations of warranty claim information.As an Assembly or Weld Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will support manufacturing of agricultural and/or construction products by developing control plans, improving production quality, and supporting the verification of processes and products.You will operate in a team environment with responsibilities that include both current product improvements and new product development. Additionally, you will: Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Management, and Order Fulfillment personnel to support factory objectives related to production rates, process capability, and distinctive quality.Participate and/or lead product development activities such as Design and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), and Functional Geometry Reviews (FGR).Establish process controls to mitigate production risks.Lead small teams to investigate problems and implement solutions for quality improvements.Use data analytics to investigate root cause and develop data-driven solutions for quality issues.Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and weld symbols on part prints to determine if parts match specifications.Develop and implement quality technologies to help control process capabilities.Monitor ongoing projects and maintain communication with business partners and stakeholders regarding project status. Skills: Experience with manufacturing quality processes that include assembly and weld.Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Experience planning, organizing, and implementing projects and assignments.Experience with root cause analysis and data analytics. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or quality engineering/technology or a related discipline.
