You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials, components, and services while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining inventory levels. Negotiate prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers and vendors. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Obtain samples as necessary for bidding selection. Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery tequirements. Processes purchasing requests accurately using the established purchasing order system. Work with other departments to ensure purchase orders are complete and identify any issues. Monitors production schedule to ensure all parts are in stock to prevent delay of orders. Identify new business opportunities with new and existing vendors. Provides monthly inventory status reports to Production/Warehouse Manager. Establish relationships with outside vendors to secure cost-efficient pricing on materials. Seek cost reduction strategies and negotiate large order discounts. Build relationships with suppliers. Create various reports as necessary and attend regular meetings. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software; Sage preferred. Ability to understand and perform intermediate math functions (i.e., discount percentages, markups, freight allowance percentages). Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with other team members. Must possess ability to operate, fax, copier and/or calculator.
