A Geotechnical Engineering Professional is needed for an engineering consulting company in Reston, VA or Washington, D.C. areas. This position entails utilizing expertise in geotechnical engineering and environmental remediation to plan, evaluate, design, and implement projects nationwide, while also mentoring team members and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

responsibilities:
- Work on nationwide projects related to planning, evaluating, designing, and implementing geotechnical aspects of environmental remedies.
- Analyze site conditions, determine design data needs, assess remedial alternatives, and perform engineering calculations.
- Prepare work plans, reports, and design documents including specifications.
- Learn from experienced staff and mentor others.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks under the direction of Design Managers and discipline leads.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and maintain focus on project objectives.
- Prioritize safety and contribute to incident-free operations with the highest health and safety standards.
- Professional on-the-job experience in geotechnical design projects.
- Experience writing specifications, preparing basis of design reports, and developing design drawings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical and design concepts.
- Knowledge and experience with geotechnical aspects of environmental remedial actions.
- strong writing and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field.
- EIT with a commitment to obtain PE.
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including the EPA Superfund program.
- Experience in planning, designing, and constructing environmental remedial actions.
- Experience in performing and leading environmental fieldwork for remediation projects.
