responsibilities:
- Provide support to project managers for planning and executing mechanical engineering aspects of capital and maintenance projects.
- Ensure adherence to design standards and regulatory requirements in detailed designs.
- Coordinate project work between internal and external engineers, vendors, fabricators, and contractors.
- Perform moderately complex engineering tasks, evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering theory and techniques.
- Support project development activities, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, and cost estimating.
- Develop or review engineering drawings and calculations for construction projects.
- Oversee the development of detailed design documents by the Engineer of Record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of facility design, construction, and operation.
- Familiarity with planning and permitting in relation to discipline-specific design and construction.
- Experience in reviewing designs to ensure compliance with engineering design, codes, constructability, and industry standards.
- Experience in procurement of engineered materials, equipment, and professional services.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 4+ years of applied engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer in Training with the goal of becoming a PE preferred.
- Advanced Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university desirable.
