- High School Diploma or GED
- Equivalent of 10th grade in ready & math on the TABE test
- Achieve a passing score on the NOCTI test for Tool & Die Makers
- Prefer an individual with Journeyman Tool & Die Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Tool & Die Maker or experience repairing and modifying stamping dies, welding fixtures, and quality check fixtures
- Demonstrate Tool & Die knowledge through a job interview and proficiency exercise
- Performs assignments that range in complexity from simple machine repair troubleshooting tooling
- Ensure compliance with Federal/ State/ Local safety and environmental regulations
- Seek ways to reduce waste, manufacturing byproducts, and hazardous raw materials
- Competency Level 1 includes all basic understanding of the processes and interactions as determined by the leadership team
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to read and follow work instructions
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations using algebra and trigonometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to detailed but simple written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving many variables in different situations
