Technical Writers are needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the Chicago IL metro area (Bridgeview). The Technical Writers specialize in manufacturing process documentation at our high-speed manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), step-by-step documents, and theory of operations manuals while collaborating closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate representation of current processes. Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, is advantageous, and experience with developing materials for proficiency scoring is highly preferred.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, possess the ability to engage with stakeholders and gather information directly from the manufacturing floor, and preferably have bilingual proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written). Experience with developing materials for proficiency scoring is highly preferred.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive documentation for new initiatives, including project plans, specifications, requirements, and workflows
- Create theory of operations manuals to outline system functionality, architecture, and operational processes
- Develop training materials such as user guides, manuals, and job aids to facilitate the effective implementation and utilization of new systems or processes
- Create operation process manuals, documenting SOPs, safety protocols, and best practices
- Engage with stakeholders and SMEs to gather accurate and up-to-date information, visiting the manufacturing floor as needed
- Collaborate closely with process engineering to validate technical specifications and ensure project alignment
