Growing manufacturer in Canton, OH is seeking a Lead Chemical Engineer to work with updating chemistry control and managing statistical databases regarding metals. This is not a chemist position, but rather managing raw material flow and consumption on the plant floor, not in a lab. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, chemistry, metallurgy or ceramics engineering and have statistical analysis capabilities. At least 3-5 years of chemistry control experience required, as well as advanced skills with MS Excel software. This position supervises one other employee. Will provide relocation for the right candidate.

responsibilities:
- Work with formulation technicians to update chemistry control and manage statistical databases
- Provide formulation aims for future melts
- Manage raw material flow and utilization; create lowest chemistry of product utilizing the process of melting and mixing scrap material
- Work with operations regarding melt and turnings scheduling
- Collaborate with teams in operations, quality and procurement
- Work on the floor with processes - this is not a lab
- Serve as supervisor for one formulation employee
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis or Chemistry
- Advanced skills in MS Excel required
- Capabilities with Visual Basic programming
- At least 3-5 years of experience with Chemistry control and formulation
- Good communication skills to work with employees in the areas of operations, procurement and quality
- SAP experience preferred
- Plant production experience
