A Planner And Production Scheduler is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Faribault, MN area. This job will manage demand forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory optimization to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery, while driving S&OP initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

responsibilities:
Sales Forecasting:
- Generate accurate sales forecasts based on demand projections, customer orders, and sales pipeline data
- Communicate sales forecasts to cross-functional teams for production planning, inventory management, and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize resource utilization, minimize lead times, and meet customer delivery requirements
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans and timely delivery of finished goods
- Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings to review demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory levels, and sales projections
- Drive alignment between sales, production, procurement, and finance teams to balance supply and demand and optimize resource allocation
- Evaluate production capacity constraints and develop strategies to optimize manufacturing throughput while maintaining quality standards
- Identify opportunities to increase capacity or improve efficiency through process improvements, equipment upgrades, or resource reallocation
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal inventory levels across the supply chain
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory strategies to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence
- Monitor key performance metrics such as forecast accuracy, production efficiency, on-time delivery, and inventory turns
- Analyze variances and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in demand planning, production scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with S&OP processes and production planning software
- strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in ERP systems, production planning tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strategic mindset focused on driving operational excellence, optimizing resource utilization, and delivering results
