The Senior Tax Analyst will support all aspects of the client's tax function, reporting directly to the VP of Tax and Treasury. This role will execute the Company's tax strategy across its partnership, REIT, and international structures, ensuring that tax considerations are aligned with the Company's operational and growth objectives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across functions in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

responsibilities:
- Support the VP of Tax and Treasury in managing all aspects of the company's tax function, including U.S. federal, state, local and international tax matters, with a focus on partnership and flow-through entity taxation (Form 1065s, K-1s, REITs).
- Manage and coordinate the preparation and review of the Company's annual tax compliance deliverables in collaboration with external tax advisors, including review of all filings and supporting schedules.
- Manage and prepare quarterly estimated taxes.
- Assist with structuring and maintenance of REIT-compliant entities, including quarterly and annual REIT testing, income and asset qualification, and shareholder reporting.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. sales and use tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including nexus studies, taxability analysis, and audit defense.
- Manage VAT compliance and planning for international operations with external tax advisors.
- Conduct research and analysis of tax implications of real estate transactions, including real estate development, joint ventures, restructurings, and capital financing as applicable.
- Support the identification, implementation, and documentation of data center-specific tax incentives and exemptions, including sales/use tax abatements, property tax reductions, and grant opportunities.
- Develop and maintain tax models to project and optimize entity-level tax outcomes, distribution planning, and investor-level impacts.
- Assist with treasury-related initiatives, including cash repatriation planning, intercompany funding, legal entity cash flow modeling, and support for bank account structuring across jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to ensure tax considerations are integrated into commercial contracts, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and auditors related to income and indirect tax matters.
- Support continuous improvement of tax processes, documentation, and internal controls to scale with the company's growth.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, or in active progress toward licensure, is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive tax experience, including previous experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm strongly preferred).
- Experience with REIT structures, real estate transactions, and other types of flow-through entity taxation is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local partnership taxation, including Forms 1065 and K-1 reporting (S Corp).
- Exposure to indirect taxes (e.g., sales and use tax, VAT) and experience managing compliance across multiple jurisdictions preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required and previous exposure to ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-tax professionals and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (Accounting, Legal, FP&A, Operations, Executive Team).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting demands in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically, exercise sound judgment, and identify practical solutions to complex issues.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of assignments from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Able to function effectively and maintain focus in high-pressure situations.
