Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and help with full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Prepare and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, job cost reports, and project profitability analysis
- Reconcile job cost to the general ledger, assist with job billing and resolve discrepancies with construction managers
- Ensure accuracy of percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition
- Process subcontractor and vendor invoices, verify proper job coding, and ensure compliance with contracts
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist in year-end audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction project accounting or job cost accounting
- Solid understanding of WIP, POC, and construction accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300, QuickBooks, or similar ERP)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
