We are working closely with a construction firm in the Northern Westchester area looking to hire a detailed accountant to join their close knit team. As a key member of the team, you will oversee the financial health of their construction projects. This role focuses on job costing, detailed variance analysis, and full-cycle accounting support to ensure operations remain efficient and profitable.

responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Project Finance: Maintain detailed job cost records and establish/analyze project budgets for multiple active sites.
- Reporting & Analysis: Conduct variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and support Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and cash flow tracking.
- General Accounting: Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and manage accruals.
- Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and project success.
- Closing Duties: Assist in monthly and year-end closings and the preparation of financial reports.
qualifications:
- 1-5 years of accounting experience, specifically within the construction industry.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
