Tatum is seeking a versatile, "hands-on" Accounting Operations Manager for a contract to hire role. This is not a typical "corporate" accounting role; it is a vital position in a small, high-output office. You will be the engine behind our daily financial and administrative operations.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a quiet, professional environment, enjoys taking ownership of the details, and is equally comfortable reconciling a complex balance sheet as they are managing office administrative tasks.

responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Handle day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and meticulous bank reconciliations.
- Project Tracking: Manage land development fees, project cost entries, and specialized industry documentation.
- General Ledger & Balance Sheet: Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and perform regular balance sheet reconciliations.
- Administrative Operations: Serve as the Controller's "right hand" by managing office files, handling mail/correspondence, and performing other administrative duties essential to a small office.
- Process Maintenance: Ensure all financial records are audit-ready and organized according to industry standards.
qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Full-Charge Bookkeeping, Project Accounting, or Accounting Management.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Real Estate Development, Construction, or Land Management is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and mid-tier accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).
- The "Small Office" Mindset: A proactive, "no task is too small" attitude. You should enjoy working independently as an individual contributor without the need for a large support staff.
