Tatum has a Family Office client in North Dallas needing an Interim Controller. This position will be the "right hand" to the CFO. This position will be in the Dallas office 5 days a week. The project consultant needs to help with a high level of workload that has built up. The duration of the project will be 3 - 6 months. This family office is very fast paced having both an investment deal team and an investment portfolio management team. The Interim Controller will be working in the accounting department. The Interim Controller will manage both sides of the house with a focus on the management reporting, shareholder distributions, and capital calls. The family office has a large and diverse portfolio with 80+ holdings in the portfolio ($250+ million in value) that the accounting team is processing. The family office holdings: Real Estate, Private Equity, stock investments, Private Equity firm investments, Private Equity fund investment, and other liquid investments. The taxes are managed by a big 4 CPA firm.

responsibilities:
The Interim Controller will be responsible for the investment portfolio this will include:
Treasury:
1) Managing a high volume of portfolio cash movement (moving money from account to account)
2) Bank management to maximize interest returns for cash holding, maintain sufficient cash position, manage 200+ different investments daily and responsible for the processing of capital calls daily for those investments properly
3) Manage equity accounts accuracy (must be able to maintain proper calculations for realizing the equity account is accurate
Controllership:
1) Preparing K-1s for tax purposes
2) Reconciling balance sheets
3) Providing all necessary reporting and supporting documents to Tax CPA firm
4) Accounting for high volume of intercompany transactions
5) Managing the insurance payments for all the family office different entities
6) Research the transaction details for accuracy
qualifications:
- Must be able to commit to a 3 - 6 month project
- Previous experience and successful track-record as a Controller of a family office
- Active CPA license in Texas is Required
- Must have experience working with high net worth "hands on" individuals
