responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize cell-based functional assays using cell lines and primary mammalian tissue cells
- Measure functional assay readouts such as cell activation, differentiation, and effector molecule secretion
- Perform advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, including multi-color flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, MSD, and HTRF
- Isolate and culture immune cells from human and mouse tissues
- Work with non-immune cells (e.g., fibroblasts, epithelial cells) and design assays to study interactions with immune cells
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments independently to support hypothesis-driven research
- Implement and innovate new experimental protocols or techniques as project needs evolve
- Analyze, interpret, document, and report data clearly and rigorously to stakeholders and in team settings
- Maintain strong scientific documentation and adhere to best practices for reproducibility and reliability
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research team
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines
qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related field
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
- Expertise in in vitro cell culture, including sterile techniques and handling challenging cell types
- Experience developing cell-based assays using both cell lines and primary cells
- Proficiency working with immune cells, specifically T cells and myeloid cells (e.g., monocytes or dendritic cells)
- Skilled in multi-color flow cytometry (experimental setup and data analysis)
- Experience performing immunoassays, including ELISA, MSD, or HTRF
- Strong ability to learn new skills and apply them in a fast-paced research environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and scientific rigor
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting work priorities
- Experience working with non-immune cells such as fibroblasts or epithelial cells
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques like DNA/RNA handling, PCR, and qPCR
- Previous work in assay development to evaluate interactions between immune and non-immune cells
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to changing project timelines and research priorities
