responsibilities:
- Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with organizing and performing pilot plant trials and associated support work under general supervision. This is a temporary contract position for the pilot plant operation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform pilot plant trials in a safe and efficient manner under supervision
- Set-up, operate and clean food-processing equipment under supervision
- Support Packaging requirements for finished product
- Maintain equipment in good sanitary and working condition
- Maintain and practice safety in the work area
- Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP & GMP)
- Organize and record data as outlined in the pilot plant request
- Prepare summaries of trial results with recommendations for processing/product improvements based on observations
- Working skills/knowledge of equipment and unit operations in the pilot plant.
- Support all departments based on trial demands.
- Provide hands on support to Project Leaders, Pilot Plant Team Members and others in pilot plant with preparation, execution, follow up, review and process improvement with trial work.
- Actively participate in cross-training as needed as well as learning new skills required due to technology advances
- Reviews SOP's and SSOP's
- Additional duties as assigned
qualifications:
Must have:
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and operations or mechanical background
- Ability to become a licensed forklift operator
- Good mechanical skills or aptitude
- Good teamwork, interpersonal, communication, organization, math and writing skills\
- Computer literacy
- Previous experience working in food manufacturing and/or culinary environments preferred
skills: Biology, Chemistry, Sample Preparation, Sample Testing, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Sensory Evaluation and Testing
