The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Manager or Director with the procurement activities for one or more categories. Capable of building stable working relationships with peers in Global Procurement and managers throughout the company.
Within their reporting line is responsible for contributing actively to and implementing decisions agreed as part of the overall operational success of the global strategic sourcing team.

responsibilities:
- 25%: Team Involvement, Self-Oversight & Delivery
- Engage and assist Category Sourcing Managers that involves and influences the Business
- With a team, create a coherent delivery plan that is shared jointly with the Client and constantly renew the pipeline with the next wave of value-adding projects Deliver excellence in front-end procurement activities, including market research, specification development, spend analytics, Category Strategy development, Business Case development, and negotiation
- 15%: Client/Internal Relations
- Understand Business area needs strategies and priorities and service accordingly.
- Ability to address urgent needs of the business effectively and efficiently.
- Work with a team to ensure Procurement is a commercial asset and not just a compliance function.
- Learn best procurement practice for the Category (Sub-Categories) and be able to explain to the Client why and how this adds value.
- Show the Client the value through compelling Business case development, including capturing Category-wide demand to leverage opportunity across the company. Demonstrate company values in all relationships (including suppliers).
- 50%: Processes, Metrics & Execution
- Ensure SLAs, KPIs and Value Add Metrics meet the Business' needs.
- Perform detailed spend analysis in support of category management.
- Track progress against objectives; refine and develop audience-specific updates.
- Use market research to ensure that the company stays abreast of latest market cost/value/innovation developments per Category.
- Assist with negotiation preparation and the contract management process
- Work with a team for the negotiation and contract management process as well as project closeout and client sign off.
- 10%: Supplier Relations
- Enable the company to get the best out of its suppliers by working in partnership with them for mutual good business.
- Ensure Procurement, the Business and Suppliers conduct business ethically, and within the Company's Anti Bribery and Corruption and FCPA guidelines.
- Alert the leadership to any improper practice.
- Work with the Team to meet or exceed agreed Supplier Diversity Goals.
qualifications:
Required
- Novice to limited experience with the various procurement tools and analytical methods commonly practiced and used within a world-class Global Procurement organization.
- Proven analytical skills involving data analysis and research methods to answer/solve routine to moderately complex requests.
- Experience with project management and metrics tracking.
- Experience with self-oversight and client/supplier relations.
- Microsoft Excel skills, Intermediate.
- Ability to read contracts.
- Prior pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Prior experience with contingent labor.
