You'll be working 100% on-site at a leading pharmaceutical company's North Chicago location, collaborating with Developability and Formulation scientists. responsibilities:
- General housekeeping of the laboratory, which includes managing supplies, chemical reagents, and lab equipment.
- Prepare buffers and solutions for use by scientists during experiments.
- Follow proper safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment and the correct disposal of biohazard and chemical waste.
- Keep the laboratory organized and ready for experiments at all times.
- Work independently to complete tasks and follow all directions given by senior staff.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness in a scientific setting.
qualifications:
Required Skills:
- A high school diploma with a STEM background and 1-3 years of lab experience (can be from college coursework).
- Associate's degree (AS) with 1-3 years of experience.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a scientific field with no prior experience.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, cleanliness, and organization in a scientific lab.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift weights and work with hazardous chemicals.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Wet bench lab experience (from school or a previous role) using equipment like pH meters, analytical balances, and micropipettes.
- Proficiency in volumetric measurements, mathematical calculations, and unit conversions.
