About the Role
Join The Client's team as a Medical Transcriptionist and play a vital role in the accurate and timely reporting of critical patient information. In this on-site role in Cincinnati, Ohio, you will work closely with our pathology team, ensuring the precise transcription of gross descriptions and clinical data. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong data entry skills and a passion for accuracy in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will be a key contributor to our mission of providing actionable diagnostic insights to improve patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe gross descriptions and microscopic diagnoses from dictated reports into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Edit and correct reports based on direct instructions from Pathologists.
- Verbally communicate STAT and malignant results to clients as required.
- Obtain and document patient clinical history.
- Prepare outside consultation cases for send-out and maintain accurate logs.
- May participate in the training of new staff members.
- Identify and report problems that could affect test performance or results to a supervisor.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs), including Pathologist Electronic Signature Guidelines.

- Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of experience in a transcription or data entry role.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent data entry, clerical, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 1-10 lbs frequently and 11-25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
