The Clinical Contracts Manager is responsible for drafting and negotiating study-level contracts for non-compete suppliers, change orders, and financial close-out activities. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and a proactive approach to managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and negotiation to tracking metrics and ensuring compliance.

- Study Level Contract Management
- Experience in small to mid-size pharma/biotech working closely with Clinical Operations stakeholders
- Managing, reviewing, negotiating, and processing contracts for multiple entire clinical studies
- Demonstrated ability to take full ownership of the contracting process
- Negotiating study budgets & contracts & reviewing budget line items in detail
- Advanced Excel proficiency

responsibilities:
Outsourcing and Contractual
- Responsible for reviewing project budgets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards. Leads negotiations with vendors and partners to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and project requirements
- Responsible for maintenance of Clinical Partner Outsourcing SharePoint site to ensure communication of key information related to strategic partnerships.
- Liaise with Legal to negotiate and execute agreements across GDO
- Format and route contracts for signature via LINC/Axxerion
- Proactively identify potential Clinical Partner Outsourcing management issues, develop contingency plans and escalate to Clinical Partner Outsourcing leadership as necessary
- May contribute to assessment of contracting and purchase order systems/tools to select suitable options for all Clinical Partner Outsourcing needs
- Track contract expiry dates and initiate appropriate action with the study teams
- Provide an internal customer and vendor interface for timely direction of contracting and outsourcing requests to appropriate CPO leads, Clinical Operations and Legal personnel.
- Working with legal will ensure version control and effective management of legal templates, contract processing to support compliance requirements identified by CPO leadership.
- Ensure training in processes and systems relevant to their activities
- Maintain CPO contract tracking mechanisms (e.g. SmartSheets) and other tools to support CPM Monthly metrics
- Maintain contractual database weekly, including workload status, open contracts, negotiated cost savings as required
- Optimize contract administration processes to ensure they are efficient and effective; providing input into process automation and drive operational efficiency across GDO.
- Support implementation of new outsourcing processes and technologies under guidance CPO Leadership and in alignment with global process and systems
- Participate in intra-departmental initiatives and undertake special projects
- Responsible for the appropriate archival of contractual and regulated / legal original documents generated by Clinical Contract Manager within CPO SharePoint site, including ensuring compliance under 'Trial Master File SOP requirements.
qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have 5+ years of analytical experience including Clinical budget negotiations, contract management and operations
- Bachelor's Degree or BA/BS preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in organizing complex activities, managing communications with external suppliers/internal stakeholders, supporting multiple people in a fast-paced and matrixed global environment.
- Advanced project management skills required.
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to thrive in an environment involving multiple priorities and diverse responsibilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, proven problem-solving ability and success working both as a member of a team and independently.
- Must possess proven capability and expertise in MS © Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and aptitude/ability to be proficient in other business systems (SmartSheets, Airtable, contract management systems, Ariba, Veeva Vault etc.)
