- As a Laboratory Technician onsite at the PPG Springdale R&D center (Pittsburgh) - Performance Testing Laboratory, you will support new product development and part qualification for PPG Automotive customers. As part of this role, you will perform equipment verification, catalog daily conditions checks, and ensure lab is running per established standards.

responsibilities:
- Provides support for technical issues. Identifies, researches and resolves routine technical problems of low complexity. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem using applicable systems and tools. May coordinate with other teams or departments to resolve problems. BS in a scientific discipline preferred but not required. Associates in scientific related applications or any college level of chemistry is strongly desired.
- Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting.
- Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures.
- Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures.
- Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests. Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments
qualifications:
- This is an entry-level position. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and no prior experience.
- BS in a scientific discipline preferred but not required. Associates in scientific related applications or any college level of chemistry is strongly desired.
