- As a Research Associate focusing on ingredients and raw materials, you will play a critical role in supporting the innovation pipeline and ensuring the quality and integrity of their diverse portfolio of iconic beverages. RESPONSIBILITIES - Raw Material Expertise: Develop a foundational understanding of various raw materials, ingredients, and their functional application across The Client's diverse beverage platforms.
- Project Support: Actively support ingredient-focused projects, including new supplier qualification, cost-savings initiatives, mitigation of supply chain disruptions, and resolution of production challenges.
- Data Integrity & Management: Accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to input and maintain required ingredient data within technical databases.
- Laboratory Analysis: Prepare ingredient samples and perform basic analytical testing (e.g., pH, acidity, density, Brix) as needed, maintaining detailed and accurate laboratory records.
- Process Improvement: Develop or update SOPs and related training documentation to ensure efficiency and consistency within the job function.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key technical liaison, working effectively with R&D functions (Product Development, Sensory, Regulatory, Quality, etc.) and external partners like Procurement and Quality.
- Vendor Communication: Effectively communicate with and manage external vendors to ensure timely acquisition of necessary technical and regulatory documents.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely allied scientific field.
- Experience: Some relevant experience in a technical function (R&D, Quality Assurance, or Ingredients) within the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, including successful completion of an industry internship.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to summarize complex project details, analyze technical ingredient specifications, and present data-driven solutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data recording and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation while also thriving in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage shifting business priorities and workload demands.
- Direct experience working with ingredient databases or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
- Practical experience performing basic quality control analysis on food or beverage ingredients.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for food and beverage ingredients (e.g., FDA, USDA).
