We're partnering with a global biotech Medical Affairs team seeking an Associate Director, Global Scientific Communications Lead to drive the strategic integration of Publications and Medical Communications across a late-stage IBD/GI asset.
If you've led global scientific communications planning, publication strategy, or congress activities within IBD, GI, or related immunology programs, this is an opportunity to take on a strategic global role with full remote flexibility.

responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of the global publications plan, collaborating with authors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure scientific and compliance excellence (ICMJE, GPP).
- Oversee medical communications deliverables including congress strategy, symposia content, scientific slide decks, FAQs, and internal/external education materials.
- Develop and maintain the scientific communication platform and core messaging framework aligned to medical strategy.
- Partner with global, regional, and country teams to ensure consistency, quality, and impact of communications.
- Provide strategic oversight of budget, vendors, and timelines while ensuring alignment with compliance and company standards.
qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MS in biomedical discipline) with 5-7+ years' biopharma experience in Medical Affairs / Scientific Communications.
- Proven record leading global publication and MedComms strategy within a matrixed organization.
- Strong grasp of drug development, data interpretation, and scientific storytelling across complex disease areas.
- Skilled in GPP / ICMJE-compliant publication planning, vendor oversight, and budget management.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and guiding external agencies; CMPP certification a plus.
- Able to manage multiple global initiatives and travel (~25%) for congresses as needed.
