responsibilities:
- Adhere to department generated and company standard operating procedures for communication, lab operations, project reporting, and lab safety.
- Perform nucleic acid extraction, quality control, and interpretation of data with minimal supervision and aligned to delivery within project timelines.
- Attain operational proficiency for required daily functions within training schedules.
- Perform troubleshooting for wet lab tasks independently and with collaboration.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all processes.
- Formally and informally communicate project progress, completion, and data by delivering reports through collaborative meetings, and verbal or written presentations.
- Timely recording and documentation of wet lab processes and progress in applicable LIMS and project management applications in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Support the development and testing of LIMS workflows.
- Maintain instrumentation as outlined by laboratory standards and manuals.
qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Educational Foundation: BS in Genetics, Genomics, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR an MS in Genetics/Genomics with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Nucleic Acid Expertise: Proven hands-on experience performing nucleic acid workflows and quality control (quantification and integrity analysis) from clinical source materials.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of micropipetting and experience operating wet lab automation for genomic techniques.
- Documentation Rigor: Demonstrated ability to strictly adhere to SOPs and maintain accurate records within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Software Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with sample tracking data entry.
- Automation Platforms: Experience performing and maintaining workflows on high-throughput automation platforms.
- Regulated Environments: Previous experience working within a CLIA-certified or other highly regulated laboratory environment.
- Clinical Writing: Experience in writing or editing clinical documents and laboratory manuals.
- Agile Problem Solving: Ability to learn new methodologies quickly and drive innovation to improve existing workflows.
