responsibilities:
- Execute Research & Development: Conduct scientific research to improve platform processes, develop new methods, and build technical intellectual property.
- Bioreactor Management: Lead the execution of cell culture processes at the benchtop bioreactor scale using rigorous aseptic techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Analytical Development, Cell Line Development, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless process integration.
- Data Analysis & Communication: Critically evaluate scientific data and present findings to internal and external audiences through reports and manuscripts.
- Technical Documentation: Author and review complex technical reports, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Process Optimization: Proactively identify and integrate new technologies and scientific advances to improve pipeline efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to corporate standards regarding documentation, safety protocols, and GMP compliance.

Required Skills:
- Education/Experience: B.S. in Biochemical/Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences with 5+ years of industrial experience, OR an M.S. in the same fields with 2+ years of industrial experience.
- Aseptic Technique: Proven, hands-on experience working aseptically with cell culture processes.
- Bioreactor Operations: Direct experience operating benchtop scale bioreactors.
- Process Understanding: Fundamental knowledge of cell culture development, scale-up/scale-down, and recombinant protein production.
- Technical Communication: Ability to author technical reports and present scientific concepts clearly.
- Protein Characterization: Experience with analytical methods used to define protein quality attributes.
- Problem Solving: Advanced troubleshooting skills within a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- GMP Knowledge: Familiarity with working in regulated environments and adhering to strict code of conduct and safety standards.
