- The Oncology Discovery Research group has an opportunity available for a highly motivated, organized, and skilled Associate Scientist I cell biologist to conduct mammalian cell line expansion in the Oncology Cell Line Facility. This position will make substantial contributions to the development of multiplex cell line drug discovery technology in a highly collaborative environment. The candidate must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team under the mentorship of a supervisor.

responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be a member of a cancer biology team focused on delivering high quality drug development candidates for promising novel therapeutic targets. The candidate will be responsible for starting, maintaining, propagating and expanding numerous mammalian cell lines in the Oncology Cell Line Facility and Biorepository. This work will include examining engineered cell line properties including growth rates. A key responsibility will be the cryopreservation and organization of important engineered cell line stocks.
- The successful candidate will be expected to rapidly learn the daily operation of the lab, readily adapt to changing project needs, plan and execute daily activities, and use problem-solving skills. Excellent teamwork and communication skills and adherence to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices and safety guidelines are essential.
- Position will be hired based on level of education and experience
qualifications:
Basic:
- MS degree in biology or a BS degree in biology with laboratory experience, 3- 5 years. Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture is essential (must have), with Solid understanding of cellular biology.
- Fluency with general biology lab procedures and aseptic technique.
- Ability to interpret and document results, prepare reports, and present information to colleagues.
- Ability to independently conduct and interpret experiments and effectively function in a goal-oriented team environment. Detail oriented, highly organized, and ability to multitask.
- Experience in collaborative teamwork in a matrix environment.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and automation.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and library preparation is a plus.
