The Research Associate plays a critical role in the R&D ecosystem, ensuring the integrity and functionality of the raw materials that fuel our beverage innovation. This position bridges the gap between technical data management and hands-on laboratory science. You will be responsible for the accuracy of our ingredient database, performing essential analytical testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to navigate supply chain shifts and cost-savings initiatives.

responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredient samples and conduct testing for core specifications, including pH, Acidity, Density, and Brix.
- Accurately enter and maintain ingredient data in the master database, following strict SOPs to ensure data reliability.
- Maintain detailed, audit-ready laboratory records for all internal ingredient analyses.
- Develop and update SOPs and training materials to optimize departmental workflows.
- Work alongside Product Development and specialized functions (Sensory, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Tech, Microbiology, and Engineering) to support new product launches.
- Assist with projects impacting ingredient supply, including cost-savings initiatives, supplier updates, and resolving production-line challenges.
- Collaborate with teams outside of R&D, specifically Quality and Procurement, to ensure ingredient compliance and availability.
- Coordinate directly with vendors to obtain required technical documents and certificates in a timely manner.
qualifications:
- B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field
- Prior experience in a food/beverage function (R&D, Quality) or a relevant CPG internship
skills: Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
