As a Biologist I, you will join a collaborative Science and Technology team focused on the development, scale-up, and transfer of cell culture manufacturing processes for medicines in pre-clinical and clinical stages. The work is based at a premier Bioresearch Center in Worcester, featuring a sprawling, state-of-the-art campus designed for large-scale bioprocessing and advanced research and development.

responsibilities:
- Bioreactor Operations: Support the setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and decontamination of over 100 bench-scale bioreactor systems (3L).
- Culture Monitoring: Perform routine sampling and analysis of ongoing cell cultures to ensure process stability.
- Media Preparation: Formulate stock solutions and cell culture media, including aseptic filter sterilization and aliquoting.
- Equipment Maintenance: Execute daily calibration and verification checks for critical lab instruments such as pH meters, cell counters, and biochemical analyzers.
- Laboratory Logistics: Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking raw materials and lab consumables to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Data Integrity: Accurately document all laboratory activities and data acquisition within both paper and electronic systems.
- Weekend Execution: Independently manage weekend requests for sampling and feeding of cultures, ensuring clear communication with experiment owners.

Required Skills
- Technical Literacy: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attention to Detail: Precision in following protocols and documenting data.
- Work Ethic: Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining laboratory standards.
- Foundational Knowledge: A basic understanding of and a genuine interest in cell biology.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Education: Associate's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a professional or academic laboratory setting.
- Technical Familiarity: Experience with aseptic technique or bioreactor maintenance.
